Architecture Adventure - 2024 Summer Workshop Docent

Expired

Description

Lead kids through the hidden features in the museum’s Suzanne and Walter Scott Great Hall designed by Union Station’s architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood. Teach them about the construction of the 1898 Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition and why it was not built to last. Show and discuss what materials Plains Native Americans use to build earth lodges and tipis. Help them combine this new knowledge and show us a structure built out of craft materials and test it to see how much weight it supports.
